Obscure Mania

Computers, Gadgets, Grilling, Politics and Anything Else I can think of

Would you believe a trucking site was at the number one position in Yahoo search for Sarah Palin in a Bikini? We’ve dropped to number six so maybe this will boost us back up a little. There are still no real pictures of Sarah Palin in a bikini. But do you remember hearing about how she competed in the Miss Alaska pageant? Wouldn’t you know it, there she is in a one piece on the runway during the Miss Alaska competition:

Since I don’t watch TV while I’m on the road, I heard about Sarah Palin’s appearance on Saturday Night Live and now that I have some time sitting and waiting for my next load I was checking the clips out on hulu.com. In case you haven’t seen them, here’s the opening few minutes and the SNL Weekend Update clip. After the jump (Click on the Read More link).

Think you’ve seen everything? It’s not even a good likeness! That’s supposed to be a gun holster on her leg. It looks like it was rushed out. There are a couple of different versions. There’s this one with the leather coat, a regular business suit and a school girl outfit. A little on the sick twisted side, I guess it’s supposed to be a complement.

Here’s a few more links about the Sarah Palin Interview on ABC with Charlie Gibson:

How about the entire unedited transcript, with the edited portions highlighted: EXCERPTS: Charlie Gibson Interviews Sarah Palin (September 11, 2008)

Newsbusters.org is a great site, “Exposing Liberal Media Bias”. That’s a full time job! They have a lot on the Sara Palin’s interview and McCain on the View. It’s all the stupidity from the media all in one place.

To see the obvious bias of Charlie Gibson, transcript from his interview with Obama – In 2007 Interview, ABC’s Gibson Greeted Obama With Softballs

And his interview with John Edwards running for Vice President in 2004: Gibson Didn’t Pound Edwards in 2004; Asked Him If GOP Attacks Made Him Mad

If you watched it live on the west coast, ABC edited the west coast version and took out the part about how Charlie corrected her about what she said about God’s plan because he misquoted her, then when she said something about that may not have been exactly what she said, Charlie comes back with a resounding, NO, it’s an exact quote, when he was completely wrong.

The actual full interview on ABC’s 20/20 in three parts: http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=5793131 If this link doesn’t work, refresh and try again. Must be something with ABC’s player.

Throughout the entire interview I wanted to just slap Gibson and all of his attitudes and questioning just makes Sara Palin look even better.

Sarah Palin shines even with Charlie Gibson’s inane questioning. For one, she’s going for VICE President. Has Gibson or anyone asked Obama about how self confident he is about running for PRESIDENT with no experience and no foreign policy experience.

Unlike Obama’s stuttering and taking too long to think of an answer, Sarah Palin is a great speaker that answers the questions quick and extremely well, even though Gibson tried and tried to trip her up with foreign policy questions and asking the same Israel and Pakistan question over and over. She did great! I don’t even think Obama or McCain have had so many foreign policy questions all at once. SHE’s the VICE PRESIDENT Nominee, start asking the same questions the same way and the same flippant, condescending attitude to Obama and even McCain and see if you have a job the next day.

The part about how Gibson explains the Bush doctrine to the Governor, HE’S WRONG, no matter what you hear.

Palin’s Definition of ‘Bush Doctrine’ Hits the Gibson Mark

ABC News’ Charles Gibson, who is being credited with stumping Sarah Palin on the definition of the “Bush Doctrine,” has himself defined the nebulous phrase in a variety of ways, including one that mirrored Palin’s disputed explanation.

Gibson and his colleagues have been all over the map in defining the Bush Doctrine over the last seven years. In 2001, Gibson himself defined it as “a promise that all terrorists organizations with global reach will be found, stopped and defeated.”

But when Palin tried to give a similar definition on Thursday, Gibson corrected her.

Okay, she’s done the “Liberal Media” interview everyone wanted her to do and she did great. This attitude is exactly what McCain’s campaign was talking about when they weren’t going to let her do just any interview. Charlie Gibson was trying his best to rattle her and make her answer the questions the way he wanted them answered so they would have something to attack the campaign with. Didn’t work.

Can’t wait for the debates.

Bush Doctrine From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If nothing else, the people that are running the Obama campaign can use the Internet. From fighting all of the rumors and innuendos about the Obama’s, now they have created Alaska Mythbusters. You would think that would be something McCain’s/Palin’s people would have come up with. The title of the website makes it sound like it is supposed to bust all of the myths the media and bloggers are spreading around the Internet about Governor Palin.

Nope, it’s from Obama’s people busting all of the good things that are being said about the Governor of Alaska. They’ve dug up (probably literally) a bunch of people that are talking about how bad Sara Palin is. How bad of a Governor, trooper gate, every other kind of dirt and rumor they can dig up.

The official reason for the website is listed as:

Alaskans who have watched Governor Palin’s career and comment on Gov. Palin’s record.

The previous Alaskan Governor that Sara beat and the Mayor of Ketchikan (Where the bridge to nowhere was going to be) are involved.

The actual conference call with the ex-Governor and Mayor talking to the press about the real story of Sarah Palin and busting all the myths about how great she is.

And a news article about the same thing.

Obama and the entire Progressive movement must really be scared to death of this woman to be going to this length to discredit her. I’m sure this has nothing to do with distracting from Obama’s lipstick on a pig remark. Nothing at all.

Would you believe that was the most popular search term last week? There are no real pictures of the future VP in a bikini. If you see any, they’re photo-shopped. (See snopes.com here)

Thanks to stories by the democrat operatives in the blogosphere that were immediately picked up by the likes of the NY Times and others, Governor Palin’s speech at the RNC was watched by 37.2 million Americans. Almost as many as Obama’s coronation at 38.3. Would you believe McCain was watched by 38.9 million beating Obama. The media must hate that, all the work they’ve done to bias and give more time to the chosen one and McCain is still in the race no matter what the media does.

A CEO for America!

McCain isn’t my first choice for President. I’ve always thought the government should be overhauled like any other failing business and a lot of Americans think the government should be run more like a business but we blew our chance at getting a CEO specializing in turning companies around. Mitt Romney is a proven businessman and a government executive and the Republicans choose McCain? (Thanks, Huck!) But the religion thing would have gotten in the way from the same people that still think Obama is a Muslim.

Third Parties have it tough

I’ve started following Bob Barr of the Libertarian party. But reading their updates, a third party has such a hard time even getting on the ballots in all 50 states, plus the trouble they have getting in the debates or getting serious time on TV, the two party system really locks out any other competition which is a shame. Except for waking up the establishment, I’m not sure a Libertarian White House could really get anything done. If they were more established in local and state governments it might be easier. I hate to say it’s a “wasted vote”, but unless you’re making a statement, I’m not sure what else would be accomplished.

Sara Palin

And now Sara Palin comes along. A social and financial conservative and has proven she’s willing to go after corruption and pork spending in her own party. It may be what the Republicans need to wake up and remember who they are. Everyone is hoping McCain will listen to her on a few issues, like energy! And hopefully she can keep the base energized enough to get out the vote in November, which will hopefully help out a few Congress members too.
